You want this in SG? Buy a Touareg.... that's all we're gonna get.

I would've loved to get a Superb hatch or Octavia, or even a Leon Cupra, but nope.

Kodiak or kodak?
Dont get confused between my personality & my attitude...

My personality is who I am...

My attitude depends on who you are...

Kodiak or kodak?

Kodiak...as in the bear...strange name cos their other suv was Yeti...so other possible names could be Sasquatch or Bigfoot. :)

Kodiak or kodak?

refers to a bear... or possibly the alaskan place

I think it's a fitting name for a SUV.

Err... If you have been in the Skoda Superb, you might change the perception about the brand. No about been a die hard fan, but the value offered by the ride.

Without a AD, would have to self import, and probably VW Singapore would not even take in the car for general servicing. But since most part are share with VW & Audi, many workshops can do the job well.

Unless VW decided not to share body panel and design cue among sibling brands this time round, it would not be difficult to guess / imagine how Kodiak will look like in another ~8 months time (the new model is schedule for debut in Oct 2016), basing on the new Seat Ateca (5 seater model).

Nice looking car but major concerns is when it come to repair, there will be a cost and time impact on the unique part. E.g. body kit

"........The engine line-up will feature familiar VW Group motors, predicted to start with a 1.4-litre turbo petrol. The core motor will be diesel, though – a 1.6 or 2.0-litre, in various states of tune, including the 237bhp twin-turbodiesel from the VW Passat. Front and four-wheel drive will be offered, along with either a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic........"

I suppose the 1.4 TP & 1.6 TD will be DQ200 (dry) & only the 2.0TD will be DQ380 (wet)?

We can only guess... But in any case, wet clutch always better than dry, pure physic.

Why do you need to even go back to vw? The savings you get from getting the Skoda (without vw dealer's profit) is significant. Many workshop can service a Skod without being charged the the rates for servicing at AD.

Fully agree! :a-good: Friend had a Fabia followed by Octavia previously, The interior fit and finish is top-notch, only main downside when comes to selling, literally get low-balled by all dealers  [knife]

VW is marketing Skoda as a affordable premium, so I guess everything has to be top-notch / reliable?

Harvest 倒了... Otherwise, the Skoda is a very good value proposition to the Jap and Kor

In Europe and India, Skoda is selling better than similar VW model (Superb vs Passat, Octavia vs Jetta, etc.).

I was told by my colleagues from India that back in their hometown, Skoda is rank along side with Audi / BMW / MB... I will take this statement with a pinch of salt.

Dealer just like a hungry tiger, will always cite low demand, poor branding, no official agent to offer super low price. But look at the price they advertise after they take in the car, not cheap at all...
