Looks nice indeed..

This should have the same DNA as it's parent company VW. So it should be using the same gearbox, suspension etc.

Will Skoda have good service and support?

There are rumours that Skoda has appointed a new AD in Singapore, and it will be operational next year. Let see if any official announcement soon. I like the Kodiaq.

I suspect the most probable AD would be Trans Eurokars.

Hurray. Hope the pricing for the cars will be competitive. [laugh]

Interesting article. If this article is correct, pricing will be very attractive ie £22500 to £26000 plus (for top spec model).

By comparison, Sorento starts at £28k, so 10-20% cheaper than the poverty spec Sorento.

If UK pricing is true and if the pricing differential translates similarly to Singapore, this will be competing in the Outlander pricing zone which would represent amazing value indeed.

I went to check. Apparently Outlander is going for £23,699 in UK.

So even cheaper than Outlander in the UK, if the rumored pricing is accurate...

Sounds too good to be true, so let's see what the final numbers come out to be. There maybe a taxation dynamic to it as well ie non-EU built Outlander maybe less tax friendly than the EU built Kodiak etc.

anyone saw the LIVE youtube broadcast of the launch of the SKODA Kodiak this early morning? its around 1am(2/Sept)

Good looking car indeed!!! [thumbsup]

Me :)... Long boring wait for the countdown. Super impressive launch... It was in Berlin. They invited thousands or journalists to cover the event... And simultaneous translations into a few languages.. From German and English which were the main languages used... Very impressed. Skoda must have spent quite a bit on the publicity.

Those who are keen to watch the launch...

India will get second half of 2017.

28 lakhs to 35 lakhs, lowest to highest end... which is roughly 58k to 72k.

By comparison, Nissan xtrail is priced at 32 to 35 lakhs. Looks like pricing should be pretty competitive.

At Xtrail, outlander pricing, think this will do very well in the Singapore market.

Turbocharged

Skoda's Simply Clever addition are really just that.

Useless for us, but they even have stuff like ice scraper integrated into the fuel cap, emergency vest holders, umbrellas in doors, bag hook on dash, removable lamp...

Then again some of them might be optional equipment. Probably will never make their way here.

In UK, 1K difference is a lot to car buyers which can send buyers into rage. Here in sunny SG, you ask people, they will tell you 10K difference niah......
