On 19th August, Nissan Motor Corp. will spend $900 million to build a new auto assembly plant in China, which will boost the company's production capacity by 30%, according to media reports.

According to reports, Nissan and its partner in China Dongfeng Automobile Group talks, plans to build a new plant in Wuhan, Hubei Province, the talks have entered the final stage. The total investment in Wuhan's new plant is 100 billion yen ($905 million), with an estimated annual capacity of 200-300,000 new cars.

At the end of last month, foreign media reported that Hiroto Saikawa, Nissan's chief executive, said the company might soon decide whether to build a new plant in China to meet its target of increasing sales in China by 1 million vehicles by 2022. A Nissan spokesman said the Dongfeng plant in Changzhou, Jiangsu, would add new production lines, which would increase the annual capacity of 120,000 passenger cars.
