Why does it shaped like the 2008 vios.

No lah, still look like the 2013 Vios as it's facelifted. Interior and back look exactly the same. Reason why nobody buying is because BM priced it unreasonably. If Attrage can sell so well, that means Borneo Motors screw up for this segment.

Thinking why BM priced the recent vios unreasonably? Thought vios is so popular among buyers when they first launched this car?!

Mid 2000 vios was good. I have driven it till scrap. No problem except for normal servicing/replacement of wear and tear. Low fuel consumption with full tank up to Genting and back to Malacca. Enough power to overtake on nshw as it was on traditional AT.

The only downside..Plastic came off after two/three years. No problem just use 3m tape. Hahaha

Btw it cost me 52k cash Bach then.

Just launched in Thailand, BM just recently launched the current pre-facelift Vios with revised engine (Dual-VVTi) and transmission (CVT) and was shown during Motorshow, if I recall correctly our Vios are all sourced from Indonesia. Wonder if BM will choose to import this facelifted Vios from Thailand.

The legendary black vios . I guessing it to be 100k car which means most ppl will get altis instead which is price somewhere that. Just like Hyundai elantra n accent, nobody buy accent when elantra is few k diff and much "value".

Dont understand whats wrong with their marketing tactic? How could they price only a few k different between a compact sedan with a mid sedan lo?

Its terrible how they are getting people to spend more money

to buy the more expensive product cos people think its better value.

Vios around 105k. When I was at the motor show even the BM SE told me to give Vios a miss as Altis having promo. Altis elegance model selling 99k compared to Vios 105k.

Now why would they price the Vios so near to the Altis.

That front end design is hideous due to the size of the Vios. It'd look fine on something larger...

I still see some 2016 vios on the road. Toyota is like a cult, ppl willing to pay a much higher price for a ugly and low specs car

Ive done my career tour in sales. Marketing. Strategic business planning across banks and MNCs.

Do u really think that BM donno what u guys are saying? Do u think they are really so dumb?

There are many reasons why this is happening and their response to u is simply "we are not begging u to buy"

Basically when a price is as such, they are pricing YOU the consumers out. They are hinting to u not to buy.

U may ask why?

It could be that their manufacturer told them to focus less on vios and more on altis?

Why again u may ask?

Cos Toyota doesn't want a developed country market like singapore to identify it's brand as a low end brand competing against the attrages etc.

Then why sell this model?

It's to have a complete model line up. From the smallest to the biggest.

Then Toyota is forcing us to buy altis?

Yes! Toyota is built on the corolla dna and it's their best selling ever. It shall remain this way.

So the vios model is designed for fun?

No. It's to maintain their market share in places like Thailand. Indonesia.

So right now, the lowest end segment is "given" to mitsubishis. Perodua.

Even kia and Hyundai have adopted similar strategy and moved up to the k3 and elantra
