Wind 1st Gear March 6, 2017 Share March 6, 2017 i have some outdoor bamboo blinds painted in black and white which started peeling quite badly. Repainting them would temporarily solve the problem since it would be recurring in another year after exposure to the elements. Hence, seeking from the DIY gurus, if locally we could get something like below? or if they works in the first place (no paint crack/ peel with long exposure to sun). Or some other recommendations? many thanks in advance. https://www.amazon.com/Rubberseal-Liquid-Waterproofing-Protective-Coating/dp/B00F0U0IRA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1488778172&sr=8-2&keywords=rubber+paint https://www.amazon.com/Rust-Oleum-Corporation-60004-Binding-1-Quart/dp/B000LNSPTE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1488778377&sr=8-1&keywords=peel+stop ↡ Advertisement

Happily1986 5th Gear March 6, 2017 Share March 6, 2017 De-lamination is a clear sign of poor adhesion. Apart from sanding down the surface, you should consider using a primer coating to enable the subsequent paint coat to properly undergo curing. Tianmo Hypersonic March 6, 2017 Share March 6, 2017 tonpang this thread.. my hdb bathroom ceiling paint is peeling.. can i just scrap off the loose paint and re-paint? any special 'weathershield' paint or sealer required? scrap off the loose paint, apply one coat (layer) of oil base sealer, and 2 coats (layers) of ICI Pentalite. If got a little more budget, use ICI wealthershield, can last a whole lot longer. Usually painters will use those cheap nippon Matex or ICI maxilite for ceilings, but bathroom ceiling is other ppl bathroom floor, very different from ceiling of dry areas.

When your hathroom ceiling paint is peeling means that your upstairs toilet is slowly leaking. Repainting wont solve it. Your neighbour upstairs must redo their toilet flooring and waterproofing. Watwheels Supersonic March 6, 2017 Share March 6, 2017 For outdoor items it's better to choose wood material with laquer or varnish finishing. Just reapply wood finishing when it fades. Easier to maintain. No amount of paint can withstand our sun. For your binds just get some sandpaper and sand off the residue paint and apply a dark colour varnish. ↡ Advertisement
