Turbocharged

i was also worried about being under powered...

PI also dont allow test drives lo.

can only depend on gut feel liao.

thats exactly how i eliminated the forester and x-trail based on FC and looks.  [:p]

i'll most probably go do a test drive on the a-class and a3.

see which one has the best butt feel.

anyone knows where can test harrier??

wow...only in stinkapore can ruffians coerce you to buy a car without test driving... :a-t2622:

Harrier comes with 3 mode of power like Eco , normal & power . If you drive with power mode easily hit 100km/h less than 10 Sec , Eco mode really worse than 1L car and normal mode just slightly better .

I always thought comfort, eco, sport mode...whatever mode should not affect the 0-100 timing.

Just like e-throttle doesn't improve century sprint timing.

Correct me if i am wrong.

Isn't there a "harrier owners club forum" out there ? Try asking existing owners. I'm sure within this forum there are many harrier owners....

Hello everyone, I am currently driving a Kia Forte and am interested in changing up my ride.

Having browse through SG Car Mart, there are plenty of choices...

Narrowed my choices to these cars with the depreciation of $11k - $13k:

  • Merc A-class - A180
  • Toyota Harrier
  • Audi A3
  • Honda Civic Turbo
Any recommendations?

Low end Merc is very plactick interior and low quipped, 1st phase out

AUdi A3 crimpy rear seat, no much different from existing Kia Fort in term of specious

Harrier from PI, if you don't mind PI and a bit sluggish pickup,

Civic Turbo, a bit overpriced, but for drive fun

Let me suggest something different, I think you should at least go test drive the Peugeot 308. It comes with an award wining 1.2 PureTech turbo engine and a very reliable Aisin gearbox. I was really impressed after the test drive, signed on the dotted line and got my COE today. The only one thing I don't really like about this car is the small legroom for the rear passengers. Hope this helps.

Peugot 308 and ford focus both nice cars. I love ford focus handling when comes to cornering.

But worried about maintenance and resale value.

I second that..

Many in sgcarmart..

Some less than 1 yr old.. n reasonably priced too..

u can get to test drive and also wont face stupid PIs that might delay delivery date

it affect

using sport mode can get u similar timing as specs

but eco mode there will be 1 sec delay before engine detect that u r going for full throttle

Let me correct myself, I heard the car is under powered, thus high FC, that also depends a lot on individual driving habits.

I have not own / driven a Harrier.. Hearsay only ... Paiseh

Harrier great for normal n comfort driving ard ..

If want power, just press the power mode..

The pick up is acceptable when activated

Mazda is a good alternative if you want a car that handles well, and probably cheaper parts than a Ford

Prevalent 'normal' engine oil consumption as well.

I say get something nice that you like, no need to be practical. I bought an A3 when I was at your phase and we enjoyed it. Kid came 2 years later and we sold the car  [laugh]

just got married and with no kids.

dont really have to fetch people at the rear. just occasionally out with parents for dinners and gathering.

currently driving a koup so looking at a car with 4 doors.  [smash]
