Hi all , I would like to made a check on the above 2 mentioned Hybrid Compact MPV . Any comments on the findings I  have made, is it correct or not?

The findings as follow:

1.BHP: Honda Freed Hybrid 131bhp vs Toyota Sienta Hybrid 72bhp

( I believed Sienta Hybrid BHP should be higher, anyone can clarify ?)

2. COE : Honda Freed Hybrid is CAT B vs Toyota Sienta Hybrid is CAT A ?

3. OMV : Honda Freed Hybrid more than 20k  vs Toyota SientaHybrid less than 20k?

4. Downpayment Honda Freed Hybrid 40% vs Toyota Sienta Hybrid 30%?

5. Overall Size: Honda Freed Hybrid  vs Toyota Sienta Hybrid, which is bigger?

6.3rd Row spacing: Honda Freed Hybrid average 1.75 m sitting still have 4-5 fingers spacing vs Toyota Sienta Hybrid 72bhp is touching the 2nd row seat?

7.Safety Features: Honda Freed Hybrid vs Toyota Sienta Hybrid ? Anyone can comment pls?

8. Pricing : Honda Freed Hybrid 113k -116k  vs Toyota Sienta Hybrid is 106k to 110k

9. Which one is more worth to but for a compact MPV?

10. Will it be another hit after Toyota Sienta Hybrid?

9. Which one is more worth to but for a compact MPV?

10. Will it be another hit after Toyota Sienta Hybrid?

1. All r not fast cars; no much point to compare

2. Yes due to freed having 135bhp

3. Sienta hybrid should be 20-21k; freed hybrid about 24-29k

4. Both should b 40% dp

5. Freed longer by some 3cm, taller by some 1.5-3.5cm depending AD or PI sienta

6. 3rd freed slight more spacious due to slight better headrm n legrm. Note PI sienta center row can move more so legrm not so compromised. Freed while better in headrm is compromised by less thigh support so may be between squatting n sitting position though cushioning is thicker compared to most 7 seaters.

7. Safety features should b similar in terms of 3 in 1 braking system safety, airbags (top up few k for side n curtain, except AD has knee airbag) n their own driver safety assist sensing system

8. U answered urself but Honda has always been the most ex of jap bnb makes

9. Subjective - may do some search n u should find some meaningful comparisons; better still feel for urself at showrm

10. I think this will sell better than previous version due to more modern / contemporary styling / better build quality / more tech features, but also need to price carefully since some may sway to other cat b cars at this range. I think also most ppl prefer Toyota hybrid models since they r pioneer in this field.

Sienta is indeed smaller than freed. The last row is really WTF. But again it is a small size MPV. I will go for freed Hybrid instead.

Last row headrm n legrm is less compared to freed cos 2nd row traverse distance around 7cm for bm sienta n 11cm for jdm one. But the thigh support is better than freed at 2nd n last rows due to lower boarding height of some 6cm lower than freed.

Agree w ur thots but for me Toyota kinda shortchanged buyers too much on built quality, ergo n features. No passenger armrest, no 2nd row handle grip for boarding (aftermkt item), softer plastics, tailgate trimming of felt, no footrest (bm version), gear lever too low (bm version), no telescopic steering.

But buying either brands won't go too wrong when comes to resale..

Currently Sienta which BM brought in is made in Indonesia. I believed KM will also bring in Freed made in Indonesia too. And they will not bring in the hybrid version. Hence the only way is to buy from PI if anyone wants to buy hybrid version of Freed and Sienta.

I don't think there is a perfect answer. Just my personal opinion. 1st if possible I avoid hybrid. Between the 2, I choose Freed for better comfort of the seats, especially the 3 row, if indeed you are looking for 7 seater.

Of course other factors such as cost, PI against AD, etc it is for individual to consider. Whether it is honda or toyota, I doubt it is going to make a big difference.

Yes. I agree with you. nowadays, toyota materials used for the interior are very plastic and cheap feeling.. the interior door levers in the car is already a major turn off in some toyota cars...

Having said that, the sienta is a budget MPV car, more used for practicality than comfort like features such as arm rests and foot rests.

If TS doesn't want a hybrid MPV, I would say get the Mazda 5 instead. Much worth for the $.

What do u think?

Footrest a must n also contour of footwell important esp if driving up north. I could feel a very slight strain on my left shin after test driving bm sienta. At least jdm has a moulded shape of footrest minus footrest cover.

Mz5 handles better than toyota mpv. N I like the sliding doors. I only dont appreciate the expensive svc, stiffer seating, downsized 2nd row ctr seat wo headrest due to stow away design n unexpected tighter last row despite its bigger exterior than wish.

If I didn't come across freed, I might have booked a toyota wish, wc I found comfortable n still decent quality interior though dated esp the meters.

Wish is just too old school design. But yeah the legroom space is even better than my stream.

BM sienta is non hybrid and one good thing is REAR AIRCON. Which is very useful for singapore use.

Mz5 engine is way better, 2.0 engine. Sufficient power to go up north also.

If you go full load passengers on the freed and sienta, esp the sienta. The car will turn super underpower... Probably only can afford to go 60km/h - 80km/h the most.

Wish is good. 100% reliable but its very dated....

Mazda is offering 5 years free servicing now for most of their models. Quite a good deal.

MZ 5 still the old model? Any new face-lift? In my opinion, i dont really like the front smiley look.

1) No Keyless entry,

2) Old HID or even Halogen light,

3) No daylight LED

4) 2 airbag

5) No cruise control

6) No paddle shift

7) No Hybrid model

Good thing

1) 2.0L engine good power

2) Dual power sliding door

3) Sunroof

4) Selling under 120k
