The one regret I have is not knowing flash techniques much earlier

It would help me achieve much better results

Delete so many because they did not meet my requirements

But because my 40d is so heavily used that my shutter button is half dead liao :XD:

I feel very song, like money well spent

I probably only dump the 40d when the shutter seizes

Can squeeze squeeze

Just like my lousy truck :XD:

I'm the old skool kind. Still prefer DSLR w big and heavy lens. Tried mirrorless but still like the feel of an optical view finder and better battery life. C and N brand still have a better range and quality of lens.

One of my fav Youtube channel about photography is Kai. Previously from DigitalRev. Funny guy. Saw his XM 4k camera review last night. ROFL.

I was like you.  I can't stand the bulkyness of DSLR.  Moved to Fuji X100 & never look back anymore.

Now, i am on Sony RX1.  Small & discreet.

Photo I took in Malacca many years back using a compact camera. Touch-up done.

B&W photo taken by another person that left a deep impression on me. The woman carrying the little girl is a single mother from Singapore. She brought her daughter all the way to US to seek treatment. The little girl has since passed away.

I still prefer the versatility that DSLR can provide. Was using canon PnS powershot back then before changing to DSLR. Of coz, technology has moved leaps and bound, so can't comment on RX1's performance.

For mirrorless DSLR, size advantage might not be that much once similar lens are mounted.

The above is only for FF body. For APS-C, I think it's better for mirrorless.

I find that mostly is the lens are the heavy ones. I have both 24-70 and 24-105 and they weigh a ton. Tried my friend's 40mm pancake on a 5D body, is actually quite fun to take it to the streets and take shots using a single hand. I usually use my cheap 50mm on the streets. It's light enough for me.

Anyway, this is just hardware preference, composition is more important and as long as you enjoy, smartphone cameras works too.

It is a full frame mirrorless camera.  It is more fun to use than DSLR.
