I praised his honesty, like or dislike, straight to the point. He said no proof, that is good enough for me.

1.2 icon is also popular, but FC and other features not applicable. 1.8G Hybrid may have a better resale, because of FC and looks. If the difference in 10k plus, the loan over 7 years negligible.

10k is a big amount if it is mostly going to the government. Lol. Strange the 1.2T cost more than the 1.8Hybrid. The latter seems like much better.

now u all know what car NOT to buy and which detailer NOT to go to.

Eh Bro. Don't like that la. Cut the guy some slack. Sometimes one gets too eager upon getting a new car to share his/her experience or a newbie in a forum to impress. Whether or not he intentionally promote the car or service vendors, it is still positive contributions. It's up to individual to trust & own discreet. Just read. We don't have to believe every thing written. If members are shopping for cars or some paint protection, it gives them some ideas. They can always go & check out themselves. Ultimate decision is still theirs to make. No amount of advertising is going to help. Well, at least for a stubborn person like meself.

I like C-HR doesn't mean I am associated with the Toyoda family. Wish I were.

Coz someone say their polish got 5yr warranty wor. So this hilarious 'advice & sharing' (aka advertisement) will probably run as long as that

5 years? whenever shops tell me their long warranty, i tell them lehman brothers which was so big and "rich" also can toh. local warranty is not even worth the paper or ink used.

Don't even need to cross the Pacific. Look at the local spa and fitness package sagas

and the more one advertises their prdt, more it gets a deterrent

You're the moderator, if in your opinion, any of my post comes across as advertising, please delete. No need to deter. Just delete. Thank you.

No offence here, while it might sound noble to say cut slack and let it be. Would one be cautious when smell a wolve peddling his stuff to your community?

I think decent claims are fine but when exaggerated and great details claims on the product, package, professional pictures that advertise the company, even a detailing groomer could be described as a master class artist, and on every other thread that has no relation to this topic. This potentially deceives other newer members to believe and fall for it. If really not representing then even retards would at least have the EQ to realise the advice given by so many.

I would just state my view here and rest my case.

i am deciding between the two as well.. now the 116d got promo at 122.8k, standard freebies: 5 yr warranty, 5 yr servicing, camera, solar film

You think can negotiate more? Or depends on luck which sales person you get..

Virgin car buyer.. not sure how far should i push for discount..

Advise welcomed..

Let's see... my choice will still be 116d after the entire debaucle because:

  1. Diesel versus Hybrid - which is more environmentally friendly and economical? Based on helpful kristenchoo's photo on mileage, I am convinced that I should go with the diesel because it gives me better mileage, and costs less at the pump. The only downside is that it costs almost $200 road tax per year - but hey, with the better mileage, and lower per litre fuel cost, I would get back more money from running costs alone!
  2. Maintenance - which is easier to maintain? Given that C-HR is running on Toyota's hybrid technology, I have to factor in the cost to maintain/replace the battery - which last I heard is in the region of thousands of dollars. On the flipside, BMW's diesel engine will cost less to maintain, and I have the flexibility to choose any workshop outside that knows how to service a diesel engine - with a whole collection of BMW specialist workshops to pick from as well.
  3. MOST IMPORTANTLY, Paintwork - which has renowned paintwork that lasts? Hands down, BMW takes the cake for this one as they are well-known for their impeccable paintwork and ease of maintenance (except maybe the frozen series, but that's debatable). Don't need to send for immediate paintwork touch-up or whatnot unless you have too much cash to spare after paying for the downpayment. If those shops are as good as they claim, send them any badly (micro-scratched) car with fading paintwork and they can also bring it back to life - agree?

Just my humble tuppence with objective comparison points that would hopefully help make the decision for BMW or Toyota.
