Hyundai Kona

yeah, this is a fine example of how the actual feel of a car can be relatively smooth despite the underlying 3-cylinder engine setup.. hyundai did quite a good job isolating the engine vibrations on the kona.

for those who are keen, really have to test drive the car to find out, rather than just base on reading general info online.

Initially quite tempted with Kona, nice design, 1.0T engine and 6sp manual. But after further research on the technology, i start to have some reservation. 3 cylinder engine tends to vibrate more. Whatever it is, be prepared lah if u really like this car.

I think they added a balancer shaft to work out those vibrations...

Got BMW i3 & i8 leh... I've seen both on the roads... also got Ioniq electric... so why don't have electric cars available?

One swallow does not make winter, 3 also don. I3 is $184K, dare not click on i8. Why is it so expensive to save the earth? And why have a cat with hardly any models in there? LTA really ahead of time.

anw, haven seen any kona on the roads yet. Has the first shipment arrived?

Bro.. How to cx if the car is registered already at one motoring

If your se has already told you your car plate:

1. Go to enquire coe rebate page and type in your car plate and nric

2. Go to enquire road tax and type in your car plate only

If your car is registered, the info will be shown after that.

But if your se hasn’t told you the car plate, the car 100% not registered yet.

ok, chose kona because i am a manual guy too
previous cars driven were all manual
over the years, extremely disappointed that there was no manual car (affordable) imported by AD
when my previous car coe was up, chose to renew at $76k, crazy $ for another 10 years, instead of getting new auto
checked once a while hoping to see (likeable) manual from AD and suddenly it really happened in jan 2018
it only took me 4 days to book this new crossover from hyundai
the price, the look and most importantly, it is manual
i want to better control the car, not the other way
shifting the stick & controlling the clutch, this is what i called driving

last year was seriously looking at brz but it didn't make sense to spend so much and fortunately patience paid off at the end :)

have this feeling, there won't be a lot of kona 1.0 on the road

so when i see one, i will feel like i found another me, another manual guy with passion (you know what i mean) :)
