Bros and Sis........Coming to a while since I join MCF and would like to share some info.

Besides sharing, I also think it is good to give the brothers at this place some salute for serving us over the years as some of us may have know this place.

Ho Hup Seng at Blk 7 King George Ave.

I know this place since 1996 when I was then driving an old Suzuki Jimny registered in 1979. I have since been to this place many times over the years as the place was run by 3 brothers (Ah Seng, Ah Chai and Ah Li). Even when I do drive a new car, I go there and buy the old man coffee as they serve me well over many years.

Place of set up - They are just general spare parts stockist and one of the brother is doing the repair and replacements for people who know them. They have little overheads and they charge really cheap. So for small problems, I still go to them. Besides, if you have more complicated issues, they do recommend you to their affiliated workshops whom are also equipped and reasonable.

So for this, I am writing to share as well as a salute for these old brother's whom serve our community well.

For our bros and sis whom do know them. Please also comments. I think with years to come, they may just disappear.......Cheers.

Bro....it's more for sharing especially that our bros and sis can save more. It'll be a pity when this place is gone......one of my friend who went there claims that Ah Li is the most honest guys he has met.

I have been to them before.

Ah Li is really an honest man.

I went to him 2 days before Chinese new year eve this year. Reached there at 7pm. Stayed pass 9pm to fix my brake problem. And even when it started to rain he still continue to help.

Charged me a very very reasonable fee that put many workshop to shame.

I too think it's a pity once he retires.

I can't guarantee if thread starter is advertising, but he is spot on on describing them.

Bro, it was never meant to be advertiswment but it will somehow sound like one.

Main purpose is to give the big credit to Ah Li whom had served ppl like us quietly throughout their life. If this had become an advertisement......these brother deserved it even though they don't need it.

I vouch my true intention as I had drove from my first car, an almost 20 years old Suzuki Jimny. Whom these guys help to maintain till my last Camry's alternator and brakepads......mention to Ah Li my hokkien name as he knows me Ah Thiam, Haha......and he knows I goes to them for many many years.

Meanwhile, I am sincerely touched that they serve quietly over years......they are our heroes in life too.......cheers and I am glad you know them.

Nice one, i mean nice ad lol

Bro, take it as ad but I think it is also good for all drivers with such honest guys. They are not related nor do I profit from it.

At the same time, let's see how many of us know them and give them the salute for serving just like Bro Andy.

I read your first post, basically they are good as they have been in business for many years and they sell cheap because their overhead is low. And small issue they do for you, although you didn't elaborate. So, ok, it's good mainly because it's cheap.

Bro, no power point....so give one at a time, salute again.....I can only go again for coffee month end when I back.

Ads are getting smarter this days

Bro, miss your message earlier on. Hope you don't feel it's advertisement. Go down see what these old guys do and give me a praise....no need to give business if you willing to pay more somewhere or if you have new car under warranty. They have more than enuf biz.

Just salute the old guys like poineers as they had served.......cheers

Dun tink TS is trying to post a free ad. Just a heads up on an ol'skool mechanic. But the name does sound like a biscuit brand or mom & pop neighbourhood provision shop tho....LOL

Jimny registered in 1979!?!?!?!

Yeah, I was talking about those days when I owned my first car in 1996, an old classic purchased from my friend's father in law which was then scrapped at 1999.

I think you mean I am still driving it right [laugh]  [:p]  [bounce2]

Thanks Bro, I don't make a single cent and is not related to them. These guys really earned my respect and also from many of my friends whom have tried. At the same time, they are old and they have more than enough business to make it good.

You are right, title should be Heads Up on an Old Skool Mechanic.....but they are a team

Some of these ol'skool mechs r still around and they bother to diagnose n try n fix the problem. Unlike some so-called specialists who simply say "Oh, spoil. Must replace everything "
