At China, you will not have WhatsApp, facebook, IG etc.... if you don't subscribe any data from your telco or bought don't china SIM card.

I half thought I screwed up badly when no one in dongincheon knew where the ferry terminal was and the bus drivers could not speak English but fortunately, I persisted and managed to get a mac donalds crew to confirm directions.

 

I already had the directions earlier like take this bus to the port but buses there go two ways and everything was in Korean.

 

Now having lunch at a near by mall while waiting for the ferry.

Boarding the ferry and found a good use for my bicycle lock. Keep my luggage from rolling in the waves.

I have been travelling for about 36 hours now. Oh and there was no public transport or even taxi from the port of tianjin to Beijing so I hitched with a tour group that was on the way to Beijing. And OMG it was a three hour bus ride plus a short taxi ride to my hostel. Cost me 140 yuan in total. 100 yuan as tip to the tour guide and 40 yuan taxi fare.

 

When I saw the sign "Beijing in 119km" I was like wah so far but I was in an air con bus so no issue.

2-3) tiananmen square. There isn't much marking there other than road signs cos the protests are not something they commemorate or give the honour of commemorating. Believe me, I know cos I talked with the police officer there (either I am damn brave or damn stupid hahahaah)

Pictures inside forbidden city. My legs could have broken walking to the forbidden city and walking within the forbidden city and it was very hot. I wonder how soldiers functioned last time.

 

Tomorrow might not sightsee. Cos I need a full day of "administration time". You will realise I seem to require a lot of administration time cos this trip is am going to be on the move every few days and a lot of thiNHS are done on the fly so need to plan and book and ensure next part all goes well.

 

As my journey requires a lot of on the next part of the journey, I am starting to forget i actually still have a job in Singapore. Hahaha. But that's what this trip is for and why it's so long. To get away from it all and just live an alternate reality for away while. "Ahem". Wrong. My official reason I put in the leave request was to "recharge".
