Income and the type of Car

Had been driving B&B cars for past 15 over years, now just feel like buying a new better car price around $220k.

Financially ok, of course much better than 15 year ago when i started first my job. Now married with 2 kids, no house loan, miscellaneous loan, no expensive holiday, no expensive dinning. Annually combined income 230k(PA), very stable job both wife and myself foresee our income should reach 300k(PA) at 5 years time easily.

Feeling unsure now, will it considers "over stretching" for someone like me to buy a car at such price.

Can't decide, maybe you guys can help and share some of your view. What do you think?

go ahead bah. U are probably 40 thereabouts. How many more nice cars can u get?

Probably would start winding down your spending in your 50s anyway.

Provided u don't change cars every 3 years.

Going by logic here

You can always consider 2nd hand, if u are really concerned about overstretching. Over 6-7 years with a lower quantum, u can't really overstretch yourself given your current earning power.

Never drive a nice car before. I don't change every 3 years, 6-7 years average.

wife how much i don't know... myself at least half a mil.

I say go for it, if you have done your sums. Life is unpredictable. And on a side note, congrats on having the job stability that me (and maybe others) are envious of. Edited by Aloe111
