Used private hire car

Honestly, it's going to be very hard to trace the actual genuine mileage of private hire cars converted to private cars, with a fresh coat of paint and leather seats.

 

A private hire travels easily 10,000km a month, or 120,000km  a year .

 

can we use the mileage clock to judge whether a car has been used for Grab or Uber?

 

If low or normal mileage, should not have been used for grab or uber right?

I know one car not to get and confirmed used as uber/grab car.

 

The new Toyota Vios. All used as PHV. I have not seen one without the label.

 

BM also not selling it now. They must have ordered a lot from BM to used as PHV.

Good thing is these cars are still under agent warranty but do check out with agent what are the things covered under warranty. If possible, ask for the car dealer for additional warranty for the cars they sell, on top of the agent one.

Even if it is for private individuals to buy, I will avoid these cars at all cost. Who knows, driver smoke in car, drunk passengers vomit inside, possible accident etc. Might as well come up with a bit more and buy new.

Are you sure it is still under agent warranty? As far as I know, Borneo motors warranty is 5 years or 100k km whichever comes first . This car miles already more than that.

If the price is cheap...plus warranty still cover by BM till 5 years...can consider to buy.

 

But if it Honda Vezel, definitely no go...as there are reports that alot of the PI Vezel on recall still not fixed yet...you are potentially driving a time bomb...if kana accident...your insurance might refuse to cover you becuase you have not fixed the recall problems.

Dealers lo. Then they will tweak the mileage and sell off as wife's second car. Only used for going to market and very low mileage.
