Is it possible for everyone including driver to alight just before the counter, do the scanning & passport chopping and then get into the car and drive off when the gantry is up? (car won't be at the usual spot beside the counter obviously).

Then don't have to worry about being unable to open doors.

Now there's gantry before and after the counter now. Where got space to walk?

Unless they completely redesign the immigration lanes.

Cleared Tuas customs this morning at 7.30 after 20 mins wait.

Customs officer came out of booth to shine torchlight thru back windows of my coupe. Had to unbuckle seatbelt to stretch arms upwards with difficulty to press thumbs on machine.

And yuks, my thumbs felt sticky after that. Imagine all the dirt & sweat fr numerous users......

Don't forget to put in parking or neutral and to engage handbrakes.

Saw a video of a taxi driver with didn't do that at a petrol station and he stuck his body out. It wasn't pretty

What a stupid measure. The stupid immigration lane already so narrow, still want people to come out and scan finger.

No brains to think ah these people.

It is indeed narrow. I am more concern on those with children above 6 years old. Their hands are so short and definitely need to come out to scan.

Definitely need an adult to bring them out.

Please share your experience if you go in with children. Thanks ya.

I may be going in during the year end holidays. :)

Thks bro. I had to shift to Park & engage handbrake becos needed to use feet as leverage to push myself in stretching out to place thumbs on scanner.

Just wonder how those with short arms & legs manage.

just cleared immigration at Woodlands, still no thumbprint scan [sweatdrop]

Lol... They did say they'll roll out the scan progressively.. lol.. 10 yrs also progressively.. so no need scan everyone now since still got long way to roll out.. lol..

Seriously, I think there is a rethink now, since everyone w common sense says this'll be more costly to implement than what the aircon scholars think will benefit, except for their KPI.. pity lky not ard, otherwise this stupid idea wouldn't hv seen the light of day...n now his son lend his face to support his pet Mandarin scholars.. yup, pie in the face now..lol..
