That VES may result in greater Carbon pollution.

I think he is right.

VES just make you pay more.

It does not ban car with higher pollution, it just ask you to pay more.

Furthermore, the max tax surcharge/rebate reduce from $30k to $20k.

High pollution car pay even less tax surcharge.

Less pollution car get lesser rebate.

BM & Hyundai will be more relaxed in this bidding since they went aggressive last bidding.

This round PI also lie low not much orders. According to an industry PI distributor, they do not foresee much orders this time round since Japan side preparing for the Motor Show. They brought in extra stocks of CHR ( not selling well ), Vezel ( practically no one buying ), Shuttle ( most movement in terms of popularity)

Likely would be Nissan, Honda and KIA leading the charges.

Expect the Honda guys to be more fierce as usual with Nissan and KIA bidding late.

COE expect to drop abit to 38-39k range for CAT A.

With this trigger of drop it will also create a buying spree for those who missed the 36k boat. Plus year end coming so those who need to close their books healthy will go all out in the next 2 months.

BMW has margin so they can afford to bid aggressively which makes only a small dent to their profits. As for Hyundai, I believe they will continue to be aggressive as someone posted they actually cut their prices so I suspect they have stocks to clear and hence willing to get a head start on their competitors by earning less but on volume, my 2 cents.

Turbocharged

Newbie here... what is this Cat A for under 130HP all about? good or bad?

Its about the LTA scholars getting things all wrong; then try to cover up by new categorisation rules which they dont fully understand; only to fail again because dealers are smarter .

A few of the PI (not those small ones) i went to for the last 2 weeks have no stock for Vezel. Was told that new shipment is on the way and car collection will probably be in Mid - late Nov if book now.

I would say both Cat. A & B, will be below $40k.

The demand may be high, but that was for the last bid.

I feel that buyers are waiting again for a dip today or next, before buying.

The consensus amoung buyers seems to be buy only after COE 'crash'.
