The Bravery at Horne Road
Staff - Glum, no smiles, no thank you.
Decor - pop arty
Food - Standard stuff prepared quite well
Price - 3 x Hawker
Recommendation - Once is enough
Last words - dont come here if you dont want to stink of oil
The Counter Staff does not greet, does not smile, does not say thank you.
Neither does the boss.
Appreciate the fact that they are very new in this business.
The food is definitely decent
But food never makes a cafe. Its the staff and ambience, the vibes.
They need to start to smile

Went there twice.
Food : never try before
Coffee: above average. Decent. Pricing same as most cafes around $5/6.
Staff: above average. Mannned by late teens and young adults. Pretty friendly.
Service: fast enough. 5 min to bring your your drink if there are no other customers.
Like : relaxed vibe at the end of the island. Outdoors on a weekday is damn good.
Probably only good for easterners.
My last choice for coffee are Starbucks and coffee bean and tea leaf. Horrible taste, noisy, crowded. I only go if I have no choice.

My makan buddy and I went to a couple of the hipster cafe mostly recommended by online food blogs.
What I don't like are the waitress who are local xmm. When it comes to service they are the worst examples. The good ones are sadly foreigners, namely pinoy waitress. They are best when it comes to service but they are not from hipster cafes but rather regular cafes eg. rocky mountain cafe.
I really can't pinpoint one cafe that's outstanding in food and service. When it comes to quality of the food and beverages it's a hit and miss affair. Read with a pinch of salt when browsing those food blogs. A lot of which are highly overrated.
If you really want to visit those hipster cafes best is to go during weekdays. Avoid going during weekends or school holidays coz their place are usually very small and you may encounter no service at all.
