Kate Beckinsale is the latest actress to come forward with allegations about sexual advances from movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.

 

The British actress issued a statement on Instagram in which she said she was greeted by the producer in a bathrobe when she went to a meeting with him when she was 17.

 

She said she said no to him professionally many times which "undoubtedly" harmed her career.

 

A string of actresses have come forward over the last week to accuse the movie mogul of sexual harassment or assault.

 

Together, the claims build up a picture of one of the most powerful men in the industry exerting pressure on younger women at the start of their careers, often in hotel rooms and offices.

 

He has admitted his behaviour has "caused a lot of pain" but has described many of the allegations against him as "patently false".

 

His spokesperson has said "any allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied" and there were "never any acts of retaliation" against women who turned him down.

 

 

But I was wondering why did these actresses took so long to come out in the open ?

And then there will be a torrent of them.

 

There's also the Bill Cosby case.

 

 

Those with power, abused them.

 

Other case was the Catholic Church.

Don’t think shld equate with which cat doesn’t like to eat fish cos there is a difference between trying to get fresh with an aspiring actress on a mutual benefits relationship vs a being a predator.

 

To be fair, I don’t hv the exact details on this Weinstein case so he could be just trying his luck in a mutual benefits type of relationship n the ladies just turn against him by saying he is a predator we wont know but seriously if he is really a predator kind of person that that’s a no go cos i’m Sure he is able to find consensual ladies willing to submit to him for career advancement so why need to predate that is if he did that?

Wannabe actress throwing themselves at director/producers. Once famous liao I think it becomes som kinda sex scandal. It's a chance to have a clean slate for the women, clearing up their image. It's better to paint yourself as a victim to gain sympathy rather dan a "whatever it takes" to get to the top. It's a competitive industry. Not everything you perceive is real.

 

Being constantly surrounded by beautiful ppl who wants your attention for their own personal gain. Ask yourself how to resist temptation?

It's obvious he's a sleazebag. But likely some of the women thought it was a willing price to pay beyond the usual flirting and sleeping with the producer or director.

apparently he is a very successful producer and able to turn you into Oscar award winner, not those sleep liao still cannot get a role in big blockbuster movie

The funny thing is men are often the "predator" and women still the "victim" in this kinda industry. Truth is these ppl are making use of each other to get what they want.

Whats unacceptable are the paedos. Many many of them but unexposed. All those young actors who grew up screwed up. Its not so much the hollywood lifestyle.
