Been driving for 4 years +, no accident, no traffic offence...

Suddenly kena 2 red light offence in a row  [:/]  I make no excuses...and learnt a hard lesson (hope bros dont flame me. I already learn from my error... beat 1 more time immediate 2nd suspension!!)

Any bro can advice me on what next?

1. After I pay my fine, how long must I wait before I receive suspension letter?

2. What will the suspension letter state? Like, roughly what is the deadline to surrender license? Or is it a fixed date? When will the date be?

3. Upon sign up for DIPS retraining course, can reduce suspension to 1-month right.. then for my case, no accident involved, can reduce to 1 week? Is it confirm can reduce or depend on other factor?

Any bro can advice me would be so much appreciated...

Also, curious to know what do bros here do with their car when/if kena suspension?

If you guys follow my other thread, you will know im buying a new vehicle. Thinking what to do with my vehicle is kena 1month or 3 month suspension... if kena 1 week, i just go overseas a few days, come back the suspension over liao  :yeah-im-not-drunk:

Wash the car once a week and admire it once suspended and can't drive lo.

Next time drive carefully and don't be reckless in future. This thing stays with you for life, imagine 2nd suspension. GG

DIPS retraining course is 5 hours and $100+. Then they give you 3 points back.

You got the sequence wrong. company workers..upon accumulating 24points.

(1) receive Summon pay fine.

(2) second letter attend course.

(3) 3rd letter after course instruct you to surrender for suspension. You do given a grace period though when the last day to surrender. Most of them choose to surrender where there are more public holidays month. You can surrender at post office though. Hahaha

(4) clear annual leaves.

Why not you try writting in to apeal your red light offence using some valid or BS reasons and see if they would at least give you less demerit point ? If you have been driving for 4 years and really have had a clean record, maybe you have a case to get 3 point deduction ? It is just as simple as writting a mail , no harm trying.

Don't bother appealing for red light offence. Almost 0% chance.

Run red light is run red light, how to reduce?

I dont know the timing but the suspension is 12 weeks. That means the suspension will fall into Christmas and calendar new year, Chinese New Year might be at risk too. If TS has planned for a year end self drive holiday, better not take risk.

But there is a chance to reduce to 4 weeks suspension after retraining, so there is hope.

Why are you guys in such a hurry to see TS back on the road before he really learn his lesson? Be a man, suck it up what is due.

Speeding and reckless driving I still can potentially siam as fellow road user. Run red-light..... You are sitting duck if you are the one caught in the junction with him or any of your family or relatives as pedestrians crossing the junction....

18yrs driving license, I never run redlight even once. Cannot think of any mitigating factors.

Totally agree.. Beating red light is probably the main cause of accident at junction.

Run red light is run red light, how to reduce?

On a lighter note:

Many years ago, a friend of a friend had some fun in Bangkok and didn't use protection; after he returned to Singapore shortly, he experienced a burning sensation while urinating and he was devastated (probably thought it was STD or HIV).

But the episode was a false alarm and he was cleared after a while.

My friend still jokes about it nowadays, that this is really Cheong Ang Teng. [laugh]

Drive safe, TS.
