In situation like this, should one just jam hard or swerve?

The Merc accelerated before swerving... real misjudgment...

Hope rider speedy recovery...

No wonder so many motorbike fatalities....cold sweat looking at the rider’s head hit the tarmac

It's really difficult to say.

Between textbook driving and being in the actual situation, the reaction can be vastly different.

Want to make more money by just driving. Can pay for some fuel costs.

Nothing surprising.

Should have just jam hard, I don't remember being taught to 'swerve' into the next lane when I was learning to drive.

But that was 30 years ago, maybe now new syllabus.

No safety distance, high speed, not paying attention to road in front.. std recipe for rear enders.. he would hv seen the cars jammed ahead, n this stretch of road no view obstruction.. No excuse for his causing accident.. yes, human reaction is to siam n swerve to avoid hit..the X5 sibei suay also.. speedy recovery to the biker..

Actually I have seen this car..

Probably swerved because he didn't want to damage his precious Merc.. now he has to pay for his damages, the Forester and the bike and any other fines...

Maybe it's a PI car... modern Mercedes cars sold by the AD have the collision prevention assist, and there are warnings and the car will help you to brake if collision is imminent..

I wonder if the Forester got hit, or the owner just hit the brakes really hard.. some collision prevention feature perhaps?

Very simple he should have just jam brake.

If he followed the 2 second rule he would have shopped in time.

Under no circumstances should he swerve.

The only time he should serve is when he is he is going head on

with an oncoming car like overtaking a car on the Malaysian trunk

road and he is facing an oncoming truck.

In this case there is no need to swerve.

I love PHV drivers. They are more interested in making 1 extra dollar and will

bang people and kill them if they need to. And the beauty is this if you told them

its really not worth it. They will refuse to listen and will chiong until they have an

accident and kill or injure someone. Really stupid greedy idiots.  [thumbsup]

Bikers where you see PHV drivers and lane splitting please give them a wide berth.

Or this could happen to you too. Please take more care.  [thumbsup]
