what is engine number self stamping?

 

It means the original engine number has been grinded off or erased and the workshop then re-stamped the original engine number on the engine. It means that the engine HAS BEEN REPLACED! Example, a 2.0 engine has been replaced with a 2.5 engine.

 

To replace or change an engine legally, LTA approval is needed! Heck in fact, ALMOST EVERY DAMN THING YOU CHANGE MUST SEEK LTA APPROVAL! Example: Exhaust. Go to one.motoring.com.sg for more info.

 

VICOM or STA will probably know what the original font of the engine number for various makes looks like so not so easy to fool them.

 

That is why when you buy 2nd hand cars, it is good to send the car for an evaluation check (at your own expense). If the dealer is reluctant, then walk away.

 

Like I said earlier, buy from ADs with a used car division for peace of mind or open your eyes big big when buying 2nd hand cars from other dealers.

Money / greed usually associated whether is buyer or seller ( the dealer ). Buyer greedy because "tam pee" price cheap so he bite. Seller dealer also greedy, "swallowed" more den his appetite and CHOKED, suffered losses, else why end up this state? Cheap not always equal good, too bad many people always blinded by GREED & Money, & when a beautiful girl pulls half balls and show G string, steam!!! Use small head thinking already! Haha

 

The same for women / lust, thing with small head also sure "mati" one day.

 

Business world, is all same. Blinded by GREED, Money, women.

If your company sells 2 Mio worth of car annually, need to put 500k bg with LTA

 

If it's a brand new company. Then need at least 100k fair?

 

If u run road. Claim Ur bg and distribute. U will think twice about running road

You are absolutely right, this is an extremely easy problem to solve. Just that those who have the power to solve this problem are not motivated because there is no money in it for them. This is not a $2000 tour package or facial package that can be left to casetrust. Other countries is not a problem because the used car can be just $2000.

2nd hand car buyers should always ensure that once money has been transferred, car ownership also must be transferred on the spot, best is to go early morning to do the transfer, so in case any mess up, still can head down to LTA, bang some table, also best do on 1st day of work week, whereby next day is not holiday. u can still go LTA.

LTA sucks in this aspect, i bought a new car from PI before, but since he just started this biz, LTA never give him high $$$ limit, so he had to go to LTA and hand over the cashiers order then they will transfer the car ownership to me!

 

LTA if u r reading, u suck, stupid system u have about having to effect a few more sales before u will raise the ESA limit for new car PIs!

only issue is if the car still has outstanding loan then even after settling the balance, it takes a day or two before car can be transferred.

 

so if the owner says need ur full payment to settle outstanding loan balance then no choice have to pay up 1st then wait for transfer.

Lien will be unlock the next day once full loan payment is made before cut-off time and at loan centre of respective banks.

 

For e.g., if owner has loan with UOB Bank, go to its loan centre in Tampine and make full settlement before 5pm (i think).  The next day, lien will be unlock
