Cant understand 1 or 2 double decker during peak hours got any difference in managing the crowds or not? Seriously those planners have problem in their planning. Overall they just cant be bother in improving our public transport, thats why they did not modified bus terminals at airport.

airport bus terminal is at basement level, so will be hard to modify? unless dig deeper...

Change the bus terminal to the coach bay area lo. And coach bay area can move to the bus terminal, since coach dont have double decker.

Dig at the roads.

It should not affect the structure.

Any experts?

Sg custom expand also doesnt mean you would not get stuck at sg side lo. Even they build 100 counter but only open 30 of them you also like this. Or the security become very tight, even how big the custom is also no use. Lol.

possible to do excavation technically, but will be costly and potentially affect the structural integrity of the overhanging structure.

T5 may have plans to relocate the bus terminal...

If the digging is only at the roads and not touching the pillars, still affect the structure?

From what I know, the current height limit of the tunnels is about 4.2 m. Dig deeper on the roads by about 50 cm will affect the structure?

Even T5 may have plans to relocate the bus terminal also no use, cause T1-T3 bus terminals still could not support double decker buses. Since buses stop at all terminals.

excavation works will cause some lateral ground movements in nearby structures. which is why over the years there have been many cases of private houses having wall cracks etc when there are nearby excavation works.

the excavation will have to be more than 50cm depth to account for the relaying of the road...

that is correct. i believe garment is trying to encourage people to take MRT to airport, and that is reflected in the reduced people loads on the buses going to the airport.

Doubt that is the case. MRT is prone to breakdowns and inflexible and buses are needed to offset the loads from the MRT.

I could suspect in future some bus services will be diverted so that they will not bypass T1 to T3 and to T5 directly. Commuters can change buses at the bus stop before Changi Airport. In fact, currently only 3 bus services going to T4.

Great contributions from the past, let this thread live through history.

Appreciate all these historical photos.. the more yellow they are, the older I assume.  [:p]

Garment always never plan and think if their brilliant plan work in reality. They always "forced" people left with no other choices but to take one particular mode of public transport without thinking of consequence, until today they still never learnt from their mistakes?!  [shakehead]

Sometimes it's not just about the poor planning.

When the problem is fixed, better don't break it again. But they just like to break it.

For example, the airport bus services have improved their frequencies recently. Have to give credit to them for that.

But now installing those annoying announcements that keeps repeating in the airport area. Taking these buses used to be quiet and enjoyable, but now have to spoil the whole experience again with another problem. Again they are inviting complains.

True that some traveller's are in a rush or busy schedule and need some rest, then come this irritating announcements. Duh.
