Lemon Law: Has Anyone Actually Invoked It Before?

Getting my new ride this Sunday. After reading quite a handful of issues encountered by people driving the same car, I am getting a bit paranoid. [:/]  Since the implementation of Lemon Law in 2012, just wondering:

1. Has anyone actually invoked it?

2. How did the situation get resolved?

VW Polo. Maybe because is one of those big ticket purchases then don't know whether made the correct decision or not ba.

bro, once decision made, dont look back or lose sleep over it. i do see quite a few Polos on the road. VW reputation slowly building up again...

do update us on your new ride once you got it  [thumbsup] congrats!

Have not had the need to invoke it - so can't comment. Most important thing as a new car owner is to do your due diligence and be sure to do thorough checks. However, rest assured that you do have 6 months to find out any issues and get it sorted.

So don't over-worry and just enjoy the ride first!

Then you should not have bought a VW in the first place.

All my friends who owned a VW have sworn not to get a VW again, unless they get rid of the DSG gear box.

You should have asked around before signing. Now too late to ask anything since you have already signed.

Just be prepared to check in your car to VCS and waste time there, that's all.

not necessary..

I bought a VW 4 times.

Out of the four times, one was passat, 3 were golf.

Problem with the car is the weak plastic in the passat. turbo leak

Problem in the golf was the DV and PCV leak.

Other times was the aircon soleniod and aircon thermister.

Important part of the ownership experience is to ALWAYS take a picture when the car fail with the warning. Send email to them.

They have a 3 strikes before fixing the problem

So you have to be patient

Plus Lemon law only kick in first 6 months.

So please please please, even if u think its small deal, please record it and send an email to tag with the subject heading of your carplate so that they can sort out your car.

And whatever you do, dont mix TCM with western doctor.

Meaning, dont do outside workshop and then cliam VW kao kao. You be screwed during warranty period.

This gearbox thing is due to the usual way of driving the VW with DSG.

When coming to a stop. please depress the pedal till you see the rpm drop to idle which is 800rpm.

if it is 950 to 1k. u did not disengage enough
