Cat A COE price at current 38k has reached multi-high year low and should atttract more bookings during past 2 weeks esp the mass market cars at mid 70-80k price range which is affordable with 70% financing. So cat A price should edge up slighlty by 1-2k.

Cat B COE price should drop by 1-2k as VES kicks in, which impact mostly Cat B cars (surcharge +10 to +20k). So dealers will be cautious in bidding.

somehow loosing steam, hooe it drops and make everyone happy except those responsible for making sure it goes up. Have a great 2018.

My prediction is sideways ie premiums about the same cos there shld be some demand after the drop last round but some may still hold back for better promotions during upcoming Motor Show whilst others will want to let the new VES dust settle to understand which models to go for, my 2 cents.....

COE prices are guaranteed to head north for the next 3 months, till March –

1)      Backlog orders from last Dec 2nd bid crash

2)      Motor Show coming up this month

3)      Traditional rush to register car before Chinese New Year

Should be low as potential buyers are waiting for motor show promotion.

Thanks Carbon for the effort and stats.

2016 was a fantastic year (for LTA), collected $2.3B  2017 dropped to $2.0B and this down trend likely to continue into 2018; as COE soften and 0% growth.

Next round drop because:

1. Buyers hold back for better deals during car show.

2. Buyers hold back due to confusion and big changes in car prices created by VES. Prius went up $30K and Elantra went up $10K.

3. Raining.
