RIP to the two victims.

I would not encourage anyone to ride a motorbike overseas. Even driving a car - which is safer - in foreign land represents some risks, and motorbikes are far riskier.

Given that we are not familiar with the traffic conditions, the direction, driving culture, the weather, etc etc., it is prudent to avoid riding motorbikes given they are so vulnerable.

Stay safe.

My friend died instantly when his bike skidded and crashed into a tree in HCM. According to the police there it was raining heavily when the accident happened.

The police can't speak English and the communication was like 1 chix 1 duck. Hv to rely on Singapore embassy in Vietnam to translate.

statistically, 1 motorcyclist loses his/her life on Singapore roads every week

I think I won't ride this weekend and buy $1 Toto instead

Sigh... it's really sad when accidents happen, and worse when it involves someone you know.

I would discourage anyone from riding overseas. Actually i won't encourage anyone to ride even here. My dad has a bike license, and my mum since we were young, had said that she disliked it, and forced my dad to sell off his bike before they got married.

And a cousin who rode secretly (he bought a bike and parked in at the void deck a couple of blocks from his own so that my uncle/auntie won't find out), got into an accident and had to be hospitalised briefly.

Am sure it's thrilling to ride a bike, but the risk is quite high.

I'm a low risk-taker...

From pictures posted in HWZ the rear tyre is practically botak...........

oh...i thought those were slicks tyres......very bad in the rain and the white road marking will make slicks dangerous even on dry surface.

my shoei grv90 and jmax has been left unused and kept in the cupboard for 20 yrs liao....

Why can't they make bike with 3 wheels and ABS to prevent skidding.

Then I can ride to Thailand too.

And put a roof on it.

I asked my mum whether I can take up bike license when I was 18.

She said yes and would disown me after that.

I am still a son to my mother now.
