i do in singapore.. i spoke to my regular workshop before..

he gave a few reasons for the reduction in business but his main reason was, less tiong (modified) chia on the road now

normal servicing people still do but they don't earn much from it he say... the money comes from repairs

I would definitely not enter this workshop 'Perfect Werkz' or 833 Garage at Synergy #06-51. Dishonest and terrible workshop. SOLD me replica tyres and rims, use replica or 2nd hand parts for repairs and charged me for original parts pricing. Told me that they have original but after sending it to my other friend workshop then I was told the parts was not the original one. They will do unnecessary repairs and keep the original parts and replacing it with replica parts or 2nd hand parts.    :pissed-off:

A lot to do with trust and expertise.  Word of mouth plays a lot

Same as @therock, been with AD for the last 7 yrs and realised that they really CMI.  Now I see AD workshops lowering their prices as well to beat the competitors.

I will say, it's expertise.  The AD i went to, knew nuts about nuts.  Most of the time, I had to be prescriptive and got them to check on a particular area I suspected.  Come on, I go to a doctor and tell him what i need done? (well for me, that still applies hahahaha)

bottomline is EXPERTISE.  I'm glad my current workshop, knows his work damn well and peer reviews, BONA FIDE ones, help a lot.

I go to my friend for regular servicing. If I happen to visit MY when the car is due for servicing, I would do it there!

I don't trust AD's work shop. They are so crappy!

I know we had a separate and long thread on the matter, but I will wait and see before I approach an external workshop to do my work, especially if it's a complicated repair job..

For regular service, maybe if my warranty runs out, but I want to see if someone will have their warranty voided despite all these new rules.. there are so many caveats and potential areas of dispute..

CCS ruling does not mean that your warranty stays intact without all T&C.

still gray area and disclaimers abound

will still go with the PI WS which is pretty credible as well.

Complex stuff then I go to my preferred pal

Twincharged

i bought my shuttle from Jack Cars .... and one service they provide free to their customers is this Car Concierge Service whereby you call and make appointment and they will send a staff down to pickup your car from you at your location for servicing.

i used it for my 1k oil change ... very convenient ... they came at the stipulated time 9am to my location at ALPS ave (ulu location?) and then i handed over my keys and they came back in about 12pm and handed back my car to me. $53.50 (after $50 voucher).

no need to take leave and sit there and wait ... just go about doing my regular routine ... best of all, its FREE !! (but car customers only lah)

i will definitely just let them do my servicing for me throughout.
