Hi there!

I have just bought a Nissan Almera 1.8 from 2004 manual transmission.
One thing i have noticed, is that it makes a slight whining sound that will pitch up with the engine speed
and then the whining sound will disappear when the engine speed increasing
I have recorded the noise with my phone https://instaud.io/1RR6
What could it be?

Hi

Thanks for the tip.

Should the sound change when turning the wheel if its the power stearing pump?

Thanks again for your help!

Yes this is correct, it sounds like its about to take off :)

Well i have some kind of weird summing noise, but only when ive just started the car.

The noise will disappear after 2 min. https://instaud.io/1TxK

This sound could maybe be related to the stearing pump.

Could indicate that there is air in the system?

Bad pump maybe?

Fastest and cheapest is just to change the power steering fluid first and see if this solves it.

:D

there are different concepts currently, some flying cars, others more drone-like flying taxis..

Must carry heavy people in case my MIL want to ride it.

Hi,

Thanks!

I will start off checking the power stearing fluid condition and flush it,

And if its still acting up i will get it checked at my local mechanic, could maybe be air in the system.

Cheers :)
