Karoon Turbocharged April 19, 2018 Share April 19, 2018 No country would allow their important infrastructure to be operate by foreign corporation. Moreover, there is no free mkt for public transport since it is public goods. Eh? Let's talk about our power supply infrastructure... PowerSeraya was spun off from Singapore Power in 2001 to become a Temasek Holdings-linked company. Subsequently on 6 March 2009, the PowerSeraya Group was divested from Temasek Holdings to become a subsidiary of YTL Power International Berhad. As of 1 April 2012, the company was renamed YTL PowerSeraya Pte. Limited. Recognised as one of the top three players in the Singapore power sector,Tuas Power is a fully owned subsidiary of NYSE-listed Huaneng Power International and a member of power giant China Huaneng Group. Senoko Energy is owned by an international consortium comprising Marubeni Corporation, ENGIE S.A., The Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc., Kyushu Electric Power Co., Inc. and Japan Bank for International Cooperation ↡ Advertisement

If they could, they would. SMRT is rotten to the core, starting with the man at the top. And it will keep continuing. And the incumbents may lose to them in the next bidding once the current contract expires. And not necessary that these routes belong to far flung places. 36 is a airport - Orchard route. It could have remained under SBST and under SBST Bedok depot and let SBST continue to capitalise this high demand route.

If more route given to foreign operators, who gonna feed retired generals? If 36 is all along using Loyang, it doesn't make sense to move it to Bedok. If 36 is all along using Loyang, it doesn't make sense to move it to Bedok. At least Comfort Delgro is not run by generals, but by people in the transport industry. Fyi, Loyang depot is a new depot built specially for GCM and GoAhead for its bus operations. Loyang depot was then a forest. When 36 was still under SBST, it was under Bedok depot. ↡ Advertisement
