This is call fad.

an intense and widely shared enthusiasm for something, especially one that is short-lived; a craze.

Just like the ah ma pangsai cake. At launch so many ppl queue up to buy the so called homemade sponge cake....now? Haha...

Look at the obike co founder. You can say goodbye to your deposit. IMO these aren't genuine businesses it's just a fad.

These kids can't even take care of themselves. How do you expect them to make sure their rental bikes are properly parked at designated parking area? They will just give up and quit. Are they helping to solve transport woes or creating more problem?

Drumroll..............

And it boils down to?

Singapore as a society cannot be gracious enough for such schemes.

Not in 50yrs and i doubt in 100yrs.

Of course, some people will argue that Singapore is half made up of foreigners.

Oh well, have a peaceful day, my fellow Singaporeans and friends.

Can happen

When the is no more low income group.

Outliers are taken care of.

All citizens very happy and contended.

All cars self-drive, all PMD auto navigate, robot cycle on behalf.

One day it can happen

One day

If there are things that people can't generally just depend on themselves because of lack of resources and expertise, then depend on corporates and govts.

Point is we don't need every thing to be commercialised till to the point that people don't own anything and be too dependant on commercialisation at the expense of we are at the mercy of them, since their main interests are revenue, not you and me in general.

I'm not saying business cannot be run, but many just jump into any business models without thinking it is logical or not.

And for the govt aspect, we are already paying taxes.

I sometimes wish Mr. Lee Kuan Yew is still around and in charge.

He would have the gumption to literally rip this PMD nonsense from its roots and just outright ban it overnight.

Too many innocent lives have been impacted because of the senseless riders.

current garment: gumption is what ah? can eat one? [laugh]

which lawyer says one?

I thought if under receivership, all the assets belong to the liquidators to try to claim back as much cash to pay back those debtors higher up in the food chain than individual customers?

lawyer say it is legal to keep the bike as repayment   [laugh]
