Lala81 Hypersonic August 27, 2018 Share August 27, 2018 @atrecord. what's the difference between the style and the excellence trims for Ateca. On SGCM, i don't really see the reason for the price differential other than the 360 camera.

On SGCM, i don't really see the reason for the price differential other than the 360 camera. Based on what we saw, these are some of the differences I can recall: - Halogen headlight (S) vs. LED headlight (E) - Manual front seat (S) vs. Electronic front seat (E) - Fabric Comfort seat (S) vs. Alcantara Sport seat (E) - No cruise control (S) vs. Adaptive cruise control (E) - No drive profile selection (S) vs. Drive profile selection (E) - 17" rim (S) vs. 18" rim (E) - Hidden tailpipe (S) vs. Chrome tailpipe (E) - Standard reverse camera (S) vs. 360 camera (E)

On SGCM, i don't really see the reason for the price differential other than the 360 camera. excellence has - LED headlights (vs halogen) - 18" rims (vs 17") - sunroof - driver's electric seat - sports seats (vs comfort seats) - visible twin-exhaust (vs hidden) - alcantara seats - Front bumper with Black Glossy grilles and rear bumper with aluminum design - Aluminum door steps with emblem - Connectivity box (wireless charger) - Progressive steering Actually i only remembered the first 2. The others i copied from SGCM one leh You interested? I never followed all threads, but heard from @carbon82 and @spring that you were looking around for car with 6 airbags and settled on Elantra? I'm also on the lookout for a tall'ish car with 6 airbags. Was surprised that cars like Sienta only has 2 airbags... Oh, for the Ateca, one thing i think can be better, is the rear seat middle is not too comfortable. The console betw the front seats and the AWD means the floor has a big 'hump', so someone sitting on one side if wanna move to the other side, will have some difficulty...

U analyse so many cars before u bought your tucson. No need me say anything Kia carens? Wah so bad meh? Ha ha... yah, that time did a fair bit. Was easier then as our criteria were clearer. Now wife's criteria not so clear, also difficult to narrow down. Besides, got quite a few new cars and also a few of those I shortlisted, now no more/different liao. Kia Carens is diesel now. Not too comfortable with it leh. Harrier? Got 7 airbags. Think we'll not spend so much lah. Hope not to cross $110k, or max $120k leh...

But resale will be a big issue. And if u can get past the fear of VAG car reliability, though it's using a wet 6 speeder, so more reassurance there. actually I'm ok with diesel, but not sure about the dual clutch gearbox there (just like why u didn't get the tucson turbo). Atrecord Supersonic August 27, 2018 Share August 27, 2018 Subaru Forester n Honda HRV LX? Forester now leylong, but i felt it has more body roll when i tested it before we chose tucson. And wife's colleague went to test recently, said the son felt motion sick in it... so that kinda make us apprehensive. Still an option, but wanna see if there are better ones. HRV is strange. It's cheaper than Vezel now as vezels have gone hybrid, and are newer with honda sensing, hence higher price. I haven't tested it yet, and will do so soon. Just not sure if wife is happy with the link to all the PHVs, and that it's old. Actually, quite a few newer cars have those enhanced safety features like honda sensing, toyota c-sense, even subaru and Mit have. The soon-to-be-launched Tucson FL also has, what front collison mitigation, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, adaptive headlight, etc... Are these really useful? Are these really useful? to me, only front collision mitigation is what i would pay for. lane keep all waste time in local driving. adaptive cruise is ok but also not much point in short distance here. especially for people like me who are a bit impatient which would be the only reason i would have considered an ugly toyota axio (which has C-sense) and the vezel (with sensing but has the stupid ass rear door handles) But since my wife got the wheels, the minor accidents/scrapes all wouldn't have been prevented by the above Edited August 27, 2018 by Lala81
