Lala81 Hypersonic September 4, 2018 Share September 4, 2018 Sharing my past episode of frozen RT shoulder. About 10 yrs ago, pain only totally gone after 2 yrs. It began insidiously. Being a right handed, too much exertion in carrying heavy stuffs taken its toll. Pain & ache in RT shoulder, thought it was just temporary but intensified accompanied by stiffness & weakness in arm down to elbow. Could not rotate my arm to brush teeth, comb hair, etc... Ortho Specialist Dr injected a cocktail of painkiller & steroid. But I turned Red like a cooked Lobster the following day, in reaction to the drugs! Was prescribed oral painkillers & later, Physiotherapy. Pain didn't go away. Spread up to back of Rt shoulder & neck. By then, my whole arm could not rotate properly to do normal daily tasks & felt that I was walking a bit lopsided. :( Someone recommended a TCM who performed Acupuncture (needles attached to electric currents) weekly for 2 mths. No improvement. In the end, self treatment at home, bought an infrared lamp & a microwaveable bean bag. Use Infrared lamp to warm & relax shoulder area before commencing on a series of stretching movements. Repeat this a few times daily when possible. Bedtime, placed heated bean bag under shoulder to sleep. There is no shortcut to healing, injured muscles, tendon or ligament need time to self repair & heal. Meanwhile, carry out light movements to prevent stiffening of joints & maintain some muscle tone. Do not carry heavy stuffs. What I heard from my friend who use something similar for the neck. If u know some basic sewing. U can sew a pillow case then use sea salt crystals (can buy one pack for like 2.50 at ntuc) to make your own microwaveable heat pack. Salt crystals is better than the bean bag (was filled with wheat actually) which tend to get moldy. Thanks !

Thanks ! why not use hot water bottle? Just need to boil water and pour into it. Wrap with t shirt or bath towel. Can last a good 5-6 hours. MIC one only $10. MIG one $40-50 with nice cotton wrap. i like the MIG as it has no rubber smell.

The cap is leak proof. Even with pressure from our body.

Jman888 Moderator September 19, 2018 Author Share September 19, 2018 You how now after physio? thanks for asking. Went through first session of physio (monthly) with basic exercise since i'm only at initial 'pain' stage, cannot do too aggressive pattern anyway i am putting in all kind of effort, everyday tar koyok, spray medicated lotion, do stretching, take anti inflammation medicine, etc. The pain is bearable now, arm still can slowly lift up but certain angle still trigger pain. The stiffness is still there but i am coping well, just have to live with a heavy ball stick to my upper arm for now.
