Peugeot 206 pricing, worth to get now?

Autofrance @motorshow'04 quotes the 206 1.4A 5 door Tiptronic XR as 78.5K. Checked with them looks like there is no more 1.4M nor any of the 1.6L/GTi models anymore after they launch the 307cc, really quite sad. Think they might be phasing out 206 entirely once the 207 comes about.

The 78.5k looks a tad ex for a 1.4L car, though it comes with ABS/Leather/single airbag.

Am quite interested in the car, should I get it first hand or second hand which is probably somewhere in the 55-59k region (correct me, 2-3 yr)?

Can some of the 206 owner share their car specs/how much they paid for their peugeot?

Thanks.

1.4A 206 is pretty underpowered ...

for 78.5k u can buy altis, civic with money to spare or even MZ3. can buy the soon-to-be-replaced focus.

i think 206 is not a gd buy now

actually its the tiptronic version, not the auto version.

but of course, i do agree its too ex for my liking cos i read the review it said the tiptronic version isn't any much better than the auto version.

So far 3/3 against the idea.... actually not really into altis/nissans/etc. cos they look a tad too COMMON-place. Any other suggestions?

Ace, you're right its the tiptronic not the auto.

Actually at that price, you are spoilt for choice:

But if you are only considering continental hatchbacks, can consider:

Citroen C3 with the panaromic glass roof option. The entire roof is glass with the front panel being a sunroof too. Can wind down the sunroof and enjoy the cool breeze at night after clubbing. When it rains and you are stationery, just incline the seat and enjoy the view of rain drops falling on you without getting wet. Shiok [thumbsup]

Ford Focus - Bigger and better than 206.

Astra, Megane hatchbacks are not considered due to budget. As for Japanese hatches, you can well afford anyone of them liaoz! [laugh]

yup, i know because the pricing is different and i read there is a tiptronic version.......but frankly speaking, from the review i read, the tiptronic version is nothing to be crow about for the 206.

why don't u consider the the megane, astra or focus since u r not into jap car? better value for money than this.

1) C3

2) Megane

3) Astra (there is only a 2L version right?)

4) Focus

Read in the other thread that the Focus is going as low as below? Redeel, this the 2005 version?

Classic $65,900

Elegance $68,900

Ace,

Your previous avatar lady looks better than the current one... when can she be back?

Wiise,

Astra comes in 1.6L NA and 2.0 Turbo.. $86k and $108k respectively i think..

no prices for the 2005 focus yet coz not in.. just rumours of going below $80k

and i think the 65k; 68k pricing is for Laser, not focus.. if focus, then there will be a big rush.. wink.gifwink.gif

Astra comes in 1.6l as well I think but prici is above 80k for sure. Likewise for Megane , also above 80k.

I am driving a Focus, ..still enjoy the car after more than 2 years. [thumbsup]

Megane shld be ard $82k now for a sedan auto. Hatch add $2k more. Manual 3k less than auto, IF Exklusiv is still bringing them in.

I think C4 is the best car in the category, but have to wait a while more before it arrives. June 05 I think.
