just to add.

personally, I prefer to read from this website, Link

you need Java application to view it.

for those who wish to upsize rims/tyres, do take note of the speed change between actual vs. speedometer reading.

but one thing to note (perhaps not to everyone) -> you upsized your rims/tyres to look good.

so i would suggest you to hit,

"Speedometer reading with non-stock tire is x.x% too slow."

"When your speedo reads 60mph, you are actually traveling xx.xmph.

Although speedometer is no longer accurate but I'm sure you will love the look.~

Actually when fitting tire sizes there are only 2 things to consider.

1. Tyre overall height (using tyre size calculators which every knows and wad this thread is abt [laugh] )

affects speedometer and odometer readings

as a rule of thumb max overall +/- 10mm or 2% difference whichever is lower.

2. Tyre width ( which most people seem to be overlooking [:p] )

affected by ur full lock turning or fender.

manuals provide you with stock specifications which definitely gives you clearance.

Usually increasing by 20-30mm shldn't be a prob but varies from car to car.

If u want even wider tires which come with bigger rims,

Aftermarket mods can be done to accomodate required specifications and widths.

eg.rims with proper offset,fender roll/widen etc.

At the end of the day, jus consult ur workshop. They should have the expertise for size conversions and allowable fitments for most car models. [:)]

i want to turn my bike into a rigid frame chopper so i am looking for info to do this on the cl350. I already cut the frame and have it stripped down to the motor only. I found weld yourself rigid kit on ebay .I will have a local welding shop do the work) but need more finishing info on it.

My recommendation to be stickied with the top post.

http://ejelta.com/tiresize/index.html

It is very flexible.

For example, I will use the Aveo as an example:

The stock 13" tires on the Aveo are 155/80-13.

So to link the page to someone so that he can decide what tires to use on the Aveo will be:

http://ejelta.com/tiresize/index.html?tiresize=155/80-13

For more information on how to link see here: http://ejelta.com/tiresize/linking.html

great link, solve my problem and save me to start a new thread. [thumbsup] [thumbsup]
