hi all

just need some advice on ATF change.

heard it might not be good to do a flush. Just drain and refill will suffice.

is it true?

Depends on how long has the ATF been left in the tranny and the age of the tranny.

What's your mileage on the currently ATF and how old is your tranny?

Flushing is usually require when U decide to switch to synthetic ATF, if U change your ATF regularly then a normal drain and fill would be suffice. [;)]

If the filter is inside the pan then just change and refill whatever ATF that's in the pan will do. If it's an inline filter it's easier, just unplug and change without loosing much ATF.

A flush is usually done with a machine and the connection to and from the machine is tapped before the tranny cooler attachment at the radiator area. So most of the time the filter can be changed without a flush if U do not need one.
