Koren Clutched March 3, 2005 Share March 3, 2005 you can leave plug cables and openpod out.. cables will give you insignificant boost.. whereas openpod will lose lowend, hence losing pickup.. the best possible mod will be lightening of your vehicle.. performance plugs, straigt through exhaust, 4-2-1 header will do some miracle.. lastly.. learn how to launch your car correctly.. it'll get your car zooming in no time.. but please do not try this on the streets.. leave it to the tracks.. BMW320i Neutral Newbie March 3, 2005 Share March 3, 2005 (edited) Any correct informations instead of those impossible answers, thanks! hehe just kidding. Spark Plug would be great. But do take note of the size. Not sure about other cars but BMWs are able to use aftermarket sparkplugs provided they refill the gap. Failure to do so will cause backfiring in worst case senario. Other mods you mentioned are fine but personally I would choose Spark plugs . Open pod filter would give you more highend I believe. So this will be the 1st mod to do. Koren Clutched March 3, 2005 Share March 3, 2005 header = the exhaust outlet from the engine.. most stock headers will be having a 4-1 arrangement. having a 4-2-1 header will incurr more backpressure, hence boosting lowend torque..

Vtim 3rd Gear March 4, 2005 Share March 4, 2005 Just to check with everyone whether what are the possible mods to a car to improve the pickup speed of the car? 1) Spark plug? 2) Open pod filter? 3) Spark plug cable? 4) Others? 1) Spark plugs are just better firing as compare to stock copper plugs, so don't expect drastic improvement. 2) Direct Open Pod will reduce your low end, especially if it's an Auto. Best is to customise a open pod or box (with drop-in filter) as close to the throttle body opening as possible, heat shield & also CAI from the front of the bumper. 3) Unless your stock cables are not efficient, else no need. 4) Others- non-LTA friendly like NOS, T/C & S/C OBTW, did you tighten the slag of the Trottle cable, this will make the car more responsive, may improve pickup abit.
