http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xwecTp91-o“Chris Harris on Car” is part of a YouTube channel with web video series dedicated to car reviews, bike adventures, driving adventures, and motorsports coverage. As the name of the series suggest, the review is hosted by Chris Harris.
Recently, Chris pitted BMW’s latest pocket rocket, the M135i against its storming German rival, the RS3. Take note that the RS3 is based on the second generation model rather than the third generation Audi A3.
Here’s a look at the credentials of both competitors. Motivation for the RS3 is provided by a 2.5-litre inline 5 cylinder that produces 335bhp . The engine is paired to a seven-speed S-Tronic transmission. The hot hatch features Audi’s Quattro on-demand four-wheel drive system. The century sprint figure is quoted as 4.6 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 249km/h.
At the other corner, the BMW M135i makes 316bhp from its 3.0-litre turbocharged six-cylinder engine. The BMW is rear-wheel driven with optional All-Wheel-Drive. On paper, the M135i xDrive sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds before reaching an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h.
In UK, Audi RS3 is about 25% more costly than the BMW M135i. But will coughing out more means getting a better driving machine?
