Ferrari LaFerrari does actually have an EV mode?

By Faiming_low on 30 Oct 2014 in Other News

Attached Image When the LaFerrari was launched, Ferrari said that it does not have an EV mode while its rivals, the Porsche 918 Spyder and McLaren P1, had. However, it seems like there are some videos out there that says otherwise. A recently shot video below clearly shows the hypercar moving onto Monza's pitlane without any assistance from the V12 engine. Then seconds later and out of view, the V12 fires into life as the owner demands more speed.

Another video below shows another LaFerrari leaving the gates of Maranello ( around the 2 minutes 24 second mark ) in near total silence for a couple of seconds before the V12 wakes up angrily as it picks up speed.

So what does this means then? Did Ferrari do an software update for its customers recently which unlocks this full electric mode? Or did Ferrari choose not to declare the existence of such a mode as the range is too limited? Either way, it is still a win-win situation for owners and fans alike to know that the LaFerarri is able to move around via electric power only!

Since young, Fai Ming has always centered his life around cars. In fact his first word was 'car' and not 'mum' or 'dad'. Aren't kids cute?
