This is how BMW camouflage's its 5 Series Gran Turismo

By Faiming_low on 03 Jul 2015 in New technology, Videos

Attached Image Starting on the computer, the engineers design additional parts using a 3D CAD program to cover up the prototype that is meant to be tested on the public roads. The extra components are required to fit perfectly on the automobile, as mounting and un-mounting them should be efficient and less time consuming.

After the designed parts have been molded, they are simply drilled onto the car.We assume the parts are made a soft and light plastic ABS, which won’t affect the basic performance of the car.

Inside, a protective styrofoam type of housing is added on top of the dashboard to hide all the interesting things away, letting only the basic functions barely visible.

Since young, Fai Ming has always centered his life around cars. In fact his first word was 'car' and not 'mum' or 'dad'. Aren't kids cute?
