Hyundai crashes US- and Korean-spec Sonatas to address concerns

blogentry-133713-0-52118300-1445911424_thumb.pngAccording to TheKoreanCarBlog, some Hyundai buyers from Korea aren't too happy with their cars' quality standards, and they’re accusing the company of having double standards. To be more precise, they believe that Hyundai builds better cars for the U.S. and other markets and offer poorer quality cars locally.

 

So to counter that thought, Hyundai set up a a crash test comparison with a 2015 Hyundai Sonata Turbo US-spec in Red vs. a 2015 Hyundai Sonata Turbo in South Korean specification to try to show how both cars uses the same high strength steel, 3rd generation airbags ( Owners believe Hyundai uses 2nd generation airbags for Korean cars instead of the latest 3rd generation for the U.S. cars).

 

Judging by the video posted below, it looks like both cars performed identically.

the least KOMOCO could do is allow people to put money where the mouth is like a group buy. If 40 people, then they will proceed with the order...

While I agree with you that the new turbocharged engines would be nice to have here, my guess is they aren't here because of cost issues.
