The difference between fake and real wheels

By Faiming_low on 31 Oct 2015 in Safety, Videos

Attached Image Mercedes Australia has conducted a test to show just how big of a difference there is between genuine alloy wheels and the fake ones.

Looking virtually the same, they bought a set of replicas via an online store and fitted them onto a CLA Shooting Brake for the test. Using another identical CLA Shooting Brake that is fitted with real wheels, they took both cars to the test track which simulated the car going over a pothole at 50km/h.

Watch the video below and see what happened to the replica set of wheels. You might want to re-consider using fake wheels in the future!

Since young, Fai Ming has always centered his life around cars. In fact his first word was 'car' and not 'mum' or 'dad'. Aren't kids cute?

These rims are fitted with ultra low profile tyres. If one uses normal profile tyres, the thicker tyre wall can better absorb the impact of a pot hole. Look at the number of Spore cars with fake wheels driving up North, notorious for pot holes.

Haha. Well this video is proof that fake wheels are stupid. Fake wheels are dangerous. People with fake Vossens will only know how shoddy the quality of the rims are when they hit a kerb real hard and have their spokes break off. Good luck to those with fake rims!

I have seen fake wheels cracked and chipped off so badly I am surprised that owner is still driving the car.
