Devel Sixteen's engine produces well over 4,500bhp

By Faiming_low on 10 Dec 2015 in Engine, Super cars, Videos

Attached Image Back in 2013, an unknown Middle Eastern supercar maker revealed the Devel Sixteen at the Dubai Motor Show and claimed to be able deliver more than 5,000bhp. Based on the car that was shown back then with its crazy design, it didn't look too convincing. Since then, they have made some progress and is now proud to show to the world that they really do mean business.

Attached Image To make sure the Devel Sixteen is able to match its claims of being able to do 0 to 100 km/h in 1.8seconds and max out at 560km/h, Steve Morris Engines have been tasked to put together this amazingly crazy powerplant. Displacing 12.3-litre and using four huge 81mm turbochargers, the completely bespoke engine includes a billet block and camshaft as well as titanium valves.

Strapped onto a dyno, the engine recorded 4,515bhp and 4,770Nm of torque, more than three times the power of the Bugatti Veyron's quad-turbo 8.0-litre W16 engine. And that wasn't the end. They claimed that the dyno being used couldn't withstand over 4,515bhp and that the engine itself actually has over 5,000bhp. While the numbers are no doubt impressive, the car is still far from production ready. Also, is there even any road-going gearbox that can withstand such crazy amount of power?

Since young, Fai Ming has always centered his life around cars. In fact his first word was 'car' and not 'mum' or 'dad'. Aren't kids cute?

They'll need a gearbox from a truck or a modified tank gearbox I assume.

As for tyres, I dunno what they gonna use.
