To make sure the Devel Sixteen is able to match its claims of being able to do 0 to 100 km/h in 1.8seconds and max out at 560km/h, Steve Morris Engines have been tasked to put together this amazingly crazy powerplant. Displacing 12.3-litre and using four huge 81mm turbochargers, the completely bespoke engine includes a billet block and camshaft as well as titanium valves.
Strapped onto a dyno, the engine recorded 4,515bhp and 4,770Nm of torque, more than three times the power of the Bugatti Veyron's quad-turbo 8.0-litre W16 engine. And that wasn't the end. They claimed that the dyno being used couldn't withstand over 4,515bhp and that the engine itself actually has over 5,000bhp. While the numbers are no doubt impressive, the car is still far from production ready. Also, is there even any road-going gearbox that can withstand such crazy amount of power?
