No testing of autonomous cars, says China

By Faiming_low on 22 Jul 2016 in Other News

Attached Image China has banned highway testing of autonomous vehicles while the country's relevant authorities work out the rules about autonomous car testing.

According to Auto News, a Europe publication, a draft of the rules has been drawn up and it is believed that it will rule out highway testing of autonomous cars which in turn will definitely delay development of such technologies by the local firms. If true, this means that testing will be restricted to smaller local roads which hamper the testing of the system's cruising abilities.

It is also reported that the head of the automotive department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, She Weizhen, failed to announce when the regulations will be finalized and implemented at a recent forum in Beijing.

Since young, Fai Ming has always centered his life around cars. In fact his first word was 'car' and not 'mum' or 'dad'. Aren't kids cute?
