More photos of the BMW 1 Series sedan have already trickled out on the internet ahead of a reported world premiere in China. Set to go on sale in the first quarter of 2017, the car will only be for consumption in China according to Autohome.
Looking much like a shrunken 3 and/or 5 Series sedan, the Mercedes-Benz CLA and Audi A3 sedan rival will be available in China in 118i, 120i and 125i guise. The first variant is set to have a 136bhp 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder while the 192bhp 120i and the 231bhp 125i will feature a 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder.
The Sedan shares the company’s front UKL platform with the MINI, BMW X1, the 2 Series Active Tourer and Gran Tourer. It will be built exclusively with Brilliance Auto, BMW’s joint venture partner in Shenyang, China.
