New 2017 Toyota Vios facelift debuts

blogentry-133713-0-36257800-1485168554_thumb.jpgToyota Motor Thailand has just launched the facelifted Vios and it gets an updated Dual VVT-i engine that will be paired with a CVT transmission.

blogentry-133713-0-87161600-1485168554_thumb.jpgOutputting 108bhp and 140Nm from the new naturally-aspirated 1.5-litre four, the 2017 Vios is said to be more fuel efficient than before. According to paultan.org, there is no manual override function for the transmission which is sounds like a step backwards to us.

 

blogentry-133713-0-58741800-1485168555_thumb.jpgOn the outside, the Vios gets a light but noticeable refresh thanks to the new bumpers with DRL lights, grill, headlights and tailights. The alloy wheels get a new design too.

It is unknown when we will receive the new updated 2017 Vios.

Borneo Motors recently launched the updated pre-facelift Vios locally which already has this Dual-VVTi and CVT combo (SGCarmart site still shows specs of the old VVTi/4-speed auto model though). This is merely just a cosmetic upgrade.

  • Is 'tiny living' really irrelevant in Singapore?

    I discussed the possibility of living in tiny houses in Singapore in an earlier blog post.
