Likely to be based on the current Lancer EX that we have here, the Grand Lancer features the company's distinctive Dynamic Shield look with the chrome garnish stretching across the front grille, similar to the Outlander. At the rear, the car gets a pair of heavily re-designed tail lights, boot and bumper. New 18-inch wheels complete the exterior transformation.
Inside, the cabin has also been freshened up. Highlights include a new optional digital instrument cluster and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Occupants will now enjoy better ride comfort with a revised suspension setting and better sound insulation.
For the markets that will get the car, a 1.8 litre SOHC MIVEC naturally-aspirated petrol sends 138bhp and 176Nm of torque to the front wheels via a INVECS-III CVT. It is claimed to be able to achieve 15.7km/L
