blogentry-133713-0-00504600-1506934211_thumb.jpgThe European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) have reported that sales of petrol-powered cars have surpassed diesel vehicle sales in Europe for the first time in 10 years.

 

Also in the report, the association said that petrol car sales have increased by almost 10 per cent in the first half of this year compared to the same time period in 2016. This in turn allowed petrol car sales to account for 48.5 percent of all passenger car sales, 2.7 percent more than in 2016 and greater than diesels for the first time since 2009.

 

Meanwhile, 152,323 fewer diesel vehicles were sold in Europe in the first six months of 2017 as compared to 2016.

 

As for sales of hybrid, electric, LPG and natural gas-powered vehicles, the number increased by over 35 percent to represent 5.2 percent of the total car market.
