S2000 remains dead as buyers prefer SUVs more

By Faiming_low on 02 Feb 2018 in Other News

Attached Image Nine years after Honda killed the S2000, there are still no signs that the well-loved roadster will ever come alive again.

According to AutoGuide who spoke to Honda Canada’s Senior Manager of Product Planning, Hayato Mori, said that successor of the S2000 will never happen as car owners are buying into the crossovers and SUVs trend for the same amount of money.

With no demand for roadsters, it is difficult for the companies to justify spending money on developing new versions of these two door cars.

For those that still want a good mix of practicality and fun will likely end up buying hot hatches such as the Honda Civic Type R, rendering the chances of the revival of the S2000 very slim.

Since young, Fai Ming has always centered his life around cars. In fact his first word was 'car' and not 'mum' or 'dad'. Aren't kids cute?

still waiting for Honda to use the old s2000 platform and just make the same formula except in a rear wheel drive format. Cannibalism the design and hybrid the rest with updated parts and save on R&D.

Probably just use the 1.5 turbo , add additional seats and 4 doors / 5 doors and should reasonably provide some form of updated equipment.
