Are steel or alloy wheels tougher
We hardly see steel wheels on cars today but does it mean that steel wheels are always inferior as compared to alloy ones?
While no one these days would want steel wheels as alloy wheels obviously look much better than steel ones, drivers who have to drive on poorly surfaced road might want to know the difference in strength between the two different materials.
Shot by the guys from the Hydraulic Press Channel, both the alloy and steel wheels go under the might of a 150-ton hydraulic press to see how they would behave in extreme situations.
Watch the video below and see which is stronger and which is less brittle.
