Tesla to update its cars with 'Dog Mode'
Tesla announced it will be rolling out two new modes, 'Dog Mode' and 'Sentry Mode' to its cars via its over-the-air update feature soon.
Interestingly, its Chief Executive Elon Musk, got the ideas for these modes via requests from Twitter.
It was Josh Atchley who asked Musk on social media that was it possible to leave a Tesla’s air conditioning and music on while in park, allowing the owner to leave a dog alone in the vehicle. He also added that it was good to have a message displayed on the infotainment screen saying “I’m fine, my owner will be right back”, when 'Dog Mode' was turned on.
Meanwhile, Twitter user Andy Sutton asked for a “360 degree dash cam feature while the car is parked.” As with the 'Dog Mode', Tesla did not give exact details what the feature will be like but the ‘Sentry Mode’ is expected to make use of the car's many cameras around it for surveillance purposes.
