If you're a car fan, chances are you're somehow familiar with the 'Transformers' franchise. Now, within around a year to come, you may be waiting in line at the cinema to get your ticket for 'Transformers 4'. Yes, you heard it right. The latest sequel to the robot-transforming car movies is expected to arrive by June 2014.   While most people are talking about Mark Wahlberg (remember him in 'Ted' or 'Broken City'?) replacing Shia LaBeouf as the main protagonist, what's more interesting to me i

Mercedes-AMG gives us an idea how its A45 will be like

Dubbed “not another Christmas video,” Mercedes-AMG has given us a lovely Christmas present in the form of a teaser video of its upcoming A45 hot hatch.   Shot with some imaginative colourful camouflage, the hot hatch can be seen in the video going through its paces. However, other than a large rear wing and new wheels, there isn't much we can see that differs from its milder sibling, the A35.   That said, Mercedes-AMG CEO Tobias Moers did say that the car will have an all new 2.0-litre turbo

Aston Martin DB9 to be restyled and re-engineered..

Image courtesy of Autocar The most beautiful piece of car design ever to hit the roads time and again has always been by Aston Martin (in my opinion). Of course, no one can ignore the pantomime of a Lamborghini and the passion of a Ferrari and the ridiculousness of a Zonda, but at the end of the day, when you want to relax and just have a drive, only one car comes to mind, and that is an Aston Martin. The good news is, their current line-up of the DB9 and the Vantage are set to be restyled and

An Audi TT into an R8. Why not the other way round?

-Project Kahn Audi TR8- Recently Project Kahn previewed its reworking of the Audi TT. It basically looks like an R8 with the R8 side panels in a different colour and all so much so that they have named it the Project Kahn Audi TR8. It does look good in all of its photo enhanced glory doesn't it? But we have to note that this isn't the first Audi TT that was done up to look like its bigger brother.   We already have Caractere doing the same thing with their Audi TT bodykit and we also hav

The BMW i3 is an incredible invention

Not only is BMW the segment leader when it comes to its sedans, it is also one of the few carmakers to have a pure-electric production-ready vehicle.   And yes, it's the BMW i3 we're talking about. It was at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show when the BMW i3 concept was showcased under BMW's new sub-brand - the BMW i - which in BMW's language is a comprehensive and ground-breaking concept for sustainable mobility.   The styling of the car is distinctive and avant garde, making it look like a

Gazoo Racing's GRMN Mark X becomes a reality

Toyota's official tuning arm, Gazoo Racing, worked their magic on Toyota's mid-size executive Mark X sedan and brought the GRMN Mark X concept alive.   Launched recently, pretty much everything that was on the concept made it into production. It still uses a six-speed manual that is hooked up to the 3.5-litre V6 that produces almost 320bhp and 380Nm of torque. LSD is standard and with the ability to switch off the stability control, those who want to drift their GRMN Mark X can do so easily.

This incredibly detailed toy Jeep will set you back US$2,300

We've seen diecast car collectors buying detailed diecast models that costs hundreds of dollars. But this thing right here, is really something else...   The Capo Racing Jeep is as true to the real Wrangler as is possible in a 1/8-scale vehicle. Everything works, from the three-speed automatic transmission to the transfer case to the locking differentials.   It uses a body-on-frame design with a real, metal multi-link suspension. In the cabin, the seats recline and the instruments light

Ford F-150 Raptor vs Ariel Nomad. Which is better?

Jethro Bovingdon of Drive Tribe recently had the chance to sample the new Ford F-150 Raptor and the Ariel Nomad. Which one is king out there in the desert?   Shot in the Johnson Valley recreation area in California, the place is equipped with a selection of different surfaces to test out the Raptor and acts as the perfect playground to fully exploit all its off road prowess. While the truck feels total at home jumping and sliding around at speed, the same can't be said of the Ariel Nomad.

170 cars do burnouts simultaneously for world record

Last weekend, no less than 170 cars gathered at Bandimere Speedway in Denver, Colorado with hopes of breaking the record for the most number of simultaneous burnouts done. As you can see from the drone footage, all the vehicles participating in the event lined up alongside the edge of a drag facility and once the flags started waving, smoke started spewing out from the cars gradually. Some of the owners even fitted special tyres so that the smoke generated from the spinning tyres are blue i
